Our world is in a state of transition. Global power shifts, climate change, a controversial security architectures, social divisions and protests, the struggle for international norms and institutions: The change affect nearly all levels of our societies – global, national, local. Sometimes, traces of transition are hardly visible at first and it takes some time before the necessity to find entirely new ways to deal with current challenges becomes visible. Sometimes change contains risks which must be prevented, sometimes change is the  much needed approach to mastering  the future.  A world in transition challenges the values, norms and practices of our current societies.

In the talks “A World in Transition”, peace and conflict researchers from Frankfurt will discuss obstacles to peace, conflict and strategies for the future with renowned journalists.

The talks in the “A World in Transition” series are held in cooperation with the Heinrich-Böll-Stiftung Hessen. From 2021, they will replace the “Krisengespräche” format, whose talks will continue to be available here as recordings.
